Power failure in Taiwan
Power losses in Taiwan, traced to a power plant, affected at least 6 million homes. Reports emerged of people trapped in elevators, mostly in the north of Taiwan, said fire service officials. SMC said its power had been restored after a "brief power dip." Power was restored around 8 p.m. local time.

A power failure causes oxygen supply interruption
A power cut caused oxygen supply interruption and two patients died in a hospital in the Netherlands. The power failure at the MUMC hospital in Maastricht was not detected immediately. The outage led to the deaths of a 76-year-old and 67-year-old men.
